  • 'Watch This Lane' (Cover this lane)

'Watch this lane' (Cover this lane) is a callout used to instruct a teammate to monitor a specific shooting lane for movement, bumps, or timing pushes from opponents.

  • Step Out Shot (Stepping Out)

A step out shot is a lateral move made far outside a bunker to break an angle, surprise an opponent, or gain a new position.

  • Waiver Desk

The waiver desk is the administrative station at a paintball field where players sign liability waivers, complete check in procedures, and verify legal requirements before entering the staging area or field.

  • Walked Field (Studied Field)

A walked field is a paintball field that players have physically inspected before gameplay, allowing them to study bunker geometry, angles, lanes, and movement routes.

  • Warm Paint

Warm paint refers to paintballs stored or used in warmer temperatures, resulting in increased fragility, softened shells, and more predictable breakability on target.

  • Weak-Side Shooting

Weak side shooting is the technique of firing from the non dominant hand or non dominant bunker edge to minimize exposure and win engagements from disadvantaged angles.

  • Wedge Position

The wedge position refers to playing from or controlling a wedge shaped bunker, which offers unique angles, tapered cover, and strong mid lane influence due to its geometry.

  • Wet Paint Behavior

Wet paint behavior describes how paintballs perform when exposed to moisture, including increased shell swelling, reduced accuracy, higher barrel break rates, and unpredictable aerodynamic behavior.

  • Wide Field Control (Wide Control)

Wide Field Control refers to maintaining influence over the wide outer corridors of the field, such as the snake side or dorito side, so that these edges remain favorable or stable for a team.

  • Wide Push (Team Push)

A wide push is a coordinated advance along the far outside edge of the field to gain strong angles and pressure against the opponent.

  • Wind-Adjusted Shot

A wind adjusted shot compensates for wind direction, velocity, and turbulence to maintain accuracy and hit targets at medium to long ranges.

  • Window Shot (Tight Angle)

A window shot is a precise shot fired through small openings between bunkers, obstacles, or terrain to hit an opponent who believes they are fully protected.

  • Wipe (Wiping)

A wipe is an illegal action where a player intentionally removes or hides a hit to avoid being eliminated.

  • Wrap Technique ('Wrapping' a Bunker)

The wrap technique (Wrapping) is a way of extending around the side edge of a bunker to access wider or crossfield sightlines while keeping most of the body behind cover. It is used to see and shoot along the wire, across the field, or into angles that are not available from a straight-on position.
