Articles containing information regarding Glossary T

  • Tactical Advance

A tactical advance is a calculated movement forward to gain positional advantage, open new shooting lanes, or exploit timing windows created by opponent mistakes or lane breaks.

  • Tactical Retreat

A tactical retreat is an intentional, controlled withdrawal from a bunker or zone to preserve survivability, re establish stronger angles, or prevent collapse during opponent pressure.

  • Tap Rack Cycle

Tap rack cycle is a malfunction clearing technique used in magfed and scenario formats to quickly address misfeeds, chamber issues, or bolt obstructions.

  • Target Acquisition (Player Locating)

Target acquisition is the process of rapidly identifying, prioritizing, and aligning the marker with an opponent, allowing accurate shots with minimal delay or exposure.

  • Target Isolation

Target isolation is the strategy of separating a specific opponent from supporting angles, creating a one-on-one engagement that increases the chance of securing an elimination.

  • Team Call

A team call is any verbal signal used to coordinate movements, pressure, or strategy between teammates during live play.

  • Terrain Cover

Terrain cover refers to natural environmental features trees, rocks, hills, brush, or structures that provide protection and concealment in woodsball or scenario fields.

  • Thermal Lens

A thermal lens is a dual pane mask lens designed to reduce fogging by creating an insulating air barrier between the inner and outer layers.

  • Tight Profile

A tight profile is a compact body posture that minimizes the player’s visible target area when shooting, moving, or engaging from a bunker.

  • Tilt Shot

A tilt shot is a firing technique where the player rotates the marker slightly to adjust angle precision, increase wrap tightness, or avoid bunker interference without compromising accuracy.

  • Time Warning

A time warning is a verbal call used to alert players about how much time is left in a round, helping teams adjust strategy before the clock expires.

  • Timing Push

A timing push is an aggressive move initiated at the exact moment an opponent reloads, shifts guns, loses visual contact, or otherwise becomes vulnerable, maximizing success while minimizing risk.

  • Transition Speed

Transition speed is the ability to switch rapidly between edges, hands, angles, or bunker depths, maximizing responsiveness and minimizing vulnerable downtime.

  • Trap Angle

A trap angle is a pre established shooting angle designed to punish predictable opponent movements, catching them as they enter or exit a bunker with limited ability to react.

  • Traverse

To traverse is to rotate or shift the marker horizontally across multiple angles or threats without changing bunker position, allowing a player to control multiple zones from a single point.

  • Trigger Bounce

Trigger bounce is the unintended activation of a marker’s trigger caused by mechanical vibration, overly light trigger settings, or improper timing, resulting in multiple shots from a single pull.

  • Trigger Discipline

Trigger discipline is the control a player exercises over when and how they fire, ensuring paint is used intentionally and without compromising position, timing, or stealth.

  • Trigger Pull Weight

Trigger pull weight is the amount of force required to activate a marker’s trigger, influencing firing speed, control, and shot rhythm.

  • Tuning

Tuning is the process of adjusting marker settings, pressures, timing, and internal components to achieve consistent firing performance, efficiency, and shot quality.

  • Turn-and-Burn

Turn and burn is a rapid reactive gunfighting technique where a player instantly rotates toward an unexpected threat and fires immediately to neutralize or trade before the opponent can capitalize.
