Keep Low
Overview
Keep low refers to maintaining a crouched, compact posture to minimize exposure and reduce the size of your hit zones while moving or playing behind bunkers.
Key Points
- Reduces visible hit zones such as the mask and chest.
- Helps stay hidden behind low or narrow bunkers.
- Improves survivability while entering new positions.
- Important for breakouts, pushes, and bunker transitions.
- Simple rule: the lower you are, the harder you are to hit.
Details
Keeping low is one of the most basic yet essential survival techniques in paintball. By lowering your body and reducing your visible profile, you expose fewer hit zones and make it harder for opponents to land clear shots.
Players keep low by bending their knees, tightening their stance, and keeping elbows and equipment close to the body. This posture is especially useful when moving through open areas, approaching bunkers, or snapping from tight angles.
Staying low while sliding or stopping allows smoother transitions into cover and reduces the chance of being caught standing upright.
Even advanced players follow the common principle: the lower your profile, the safer you are.
