Escape Move
Overview
An escape move is a quick retreat or slide used to exit a dangerous position when a player is overwhelmed, outnumbered, or losing a gunfight.
Key Points
- Allows players to survive instead of being eliminated.
- Used when pressure becomes too strong to hold a bunker.
- Often involves sliding, running low, or switching bunkers rapidly.
- Must be timed correctly to avoid crossing active lanes.
- Gives players a chance to reset angles or support teammates.
Details
An escape move is a defensive action used when a player’s current position becomes unsafe. This may happen if multiple opponents gain angles, if the player is pinned by heavy fire, or if their bunker becomes compromised.
Escape moves involve sprinting, sliding, crouch-running, or quickly transitioning to a safer bunker. The goal is survival not winning the gunfight. A successful escape move reduces exposure and avoids direct hits while keeping the player active in the game.
Timing is critical. Players wait for small openings such as opponent reloads, distractions, or lane breaks before attempting an escape. Moving too early or too late can result in a clean elimination.
Escape moves are essential for resetting the field, preserving numbers, and preventing one lost position from snowballing into a team-wide collapse.
