Details

A dead man walk is a tactic based on deception. The player acts eliminated by lowering their gun, slowing their movement, or heading toward the deadbox. Opponents may stop watching them or assume they no longer pose a threat. At the right moment, the player re-engages, often catching defenders off guard.

This tactic is polarizing. Some fields and event formats allow it as part of strategic gameplay, while others ban it because it blurs the clarity of elimination signals and can cause safety or fairness concerns.

Players performing a dead man walk must ensure they follow all local rules. If the field prohibits it, attempting one may result in penalties or forced elimination.

When allowed, successful dead man walks rely on reading opponents’ attention, choosing the right timing, and quickly transitioning back into an active posture for a surprise elimination.
