Zipper Lane
Overview
A zipper lane is a tight, vertical or diagonal shooting lane that targets players transitioning between stacked bunkers or moving along narrow field routes.
Key Points
- Targets small movement paths opponents repeatedly cross.
- Named for the ‘zipper-like’ vertical or angled shape.
- Effective against players moving between doritos or cans.
- Requires accuracy and steady marker control.
- Great for catching predictable mid-game movements.
Details
A zipper lane is a narrow shooting lane that runs vertically or diagonally across the field often between a series of bunkers aligned in a straight or staggered pattern. These lanes are called “zipper lanes” because opponents tend to move up them like teeth on a zipper.
Players use zipper lanes to catch: - Mid players transitioning between bunkers - Wide players moving up tape doritos - Runners shifting from one mid point to the next
A strong zipper lane prevents safe advancement and forces opponents to stall, creating opportunities for crossfield eliminations.
Maintaining a zipper lane requires steady fire, awareness of movement patterns, and tight marker control.
