Dive
Overview
A dive is a forward or lateral sliding movement used to rapidly enter low profile bunkers such as the snake while minimizing exposure to incoming fire.
Key Points
- Used to reach front bunkers safely and quickly.
- Keeps the player’s profile extremely low.
- Reduces chances of being clipped during movement.
- Requires practiced technique to avoid injury or dropped gear.
- Common in snake-side breakouts and timing-based attacks.
Details
Diving is a high-speed movement technique where a player launches forward or diagonally and transitions into a controlled slide. The movement minimizes profile height and reduces exposure to laning fire. Proper diving form involves distributing weight forward, tucking arms and marker, and absorbing impact with forearms and torso.
The dive is especially important for snake players, whose routes require extreme speed and minimal visibility. Effective dives allow players to reach key bunkers before opposing lanes fully establish, often determining early-game success.
Elite players practice varied dive styles forward dives, lateral dives, belly slides, and angled entries to adapt to different bunker shapes and field geometries. Incorrect dives risk injury, marker damage, or gear displacement, emphasizing the need for precision and practice.
