Side Peek
Overview
A side peek is a standard bunker edge exposure technique where the player leans or wraps around the lateral edge of a bunker to check angles or engage targets.
Key Points
- Most common form of bunker edge engagement.
- Uses lateral lean or wrap to expose barrel and mask minimally.
- Provides fast access to crossfield and mirrored angle gunfights.
- Requires strong profile management to avoid mask or loader exposure.
- Often performed with switch hand transitions for tighter angles.
Details
Side peeks form the basis of most bunker edge engagements. Players lean around the left or right edge of a bunker, exposing only the minimal necessary silhouette usually the mask edge, shoulder, and barrel to gather information or fire shots.
Side peeks are highly dependent on bunker geometry. Larger bunkers allow safer, tighter peeks, while smaller bunkers require more precise body positioning and profile management. Players must avoid exposing hopper corners, elbow tips, or shoulder blades while executing clean side peeks.

Mastering side peeks is essential for all positions, especially snake players and midline gunfighters engaged in rapid, timing based edge battles.
