Reading the field is the ability to understand the full game situation, not just what is directly in front of you. Players who read the field well track opponent locations, listen to teammate communication, and predict future movements.
This skill includes: Noticing where pressure is increasing. Identifying empty zones opponents could fill. Recognizing when your team gains or loses control. Knowing which lanes matter at each stage of the point.
Reading the field allows players to reposition wisely, support teammates, avoid traps, and launch pushes at the right moment. It also prevents being surprised by flanks or center attacks.
Strong field reading separates experienced players from beginners and greatly improves overall team strategy.
