Quick Run
Overview
A quick run is a short, explosive sprint between bunkers designed to minimize exposure time, capitalize on move windows, and gain ground before opponents can shift lanes.
Key Points
- Relies on explosive acceleration and low profile movement.
- Used to reach inserts, widen lanes, or reposition under pressure.
- Executed during timing windows such as reloads or lane breaks.
- Crucial for aggressive front players and mid game transitions.
- Requires pre planned routes and bunker familiarity.
Details
A quick run is more than simply running fast it is a precisely timed movement that minimizes how long a player is exposed to incoming fire. Since crossing open gaps is one of the riskiest actions in paintball, quick runs must align with tactical timing cues.
Players use quick runs to: Reach key bunkers off the break. Fill empty positions after a teammate is eliminated. Transition across the midline for new angles. Execute bunker runs or deep pushes.
Technical elements include: Low body posture, keeping the head down to avoid mask line exposure. Explosive acceleration, covering distance before opponents adjust. Route memorization, knowing bunker spacing and approach angles. Coordination, relying on teammates to provide cover fire and create move windows.
Quick runs dramatically influence the tempo of a point. Successful quick runs often shift control of wires or the center, while failed ones can lead to immediate losses or positional collapse.
