Details
Insert players occupy transitional bunkers that provide access to multiple areas of the field. Their primary function is to reinforce positions that become vulnerable due to early eliminations or shifts in control. Insert positions are typically located between primary roles, allowing movement toward the snake, Dorito, center, or backline zones as needed.
At the start of a point, insert players often move into mid level bunkers that provide sufficient visibility to evaluate emerging developments. From there, they determine which parts of the formation require stabilization. Their presence helps compensate for gaps created by trades or losses in the opening engagements.
Insert players also contribute to information flow. Their placement allows them to hear communication from front, mid, and back roles and relay updates across multiple zones. This helps the team maintain awareness as the field changes.
Because insert responsibilities vary based on layout and point progression, the role emphasizes broad positional literacy and the ability to recognize structural needs quickly.
