Zeroing

Zeroing reference article.

Overview

Zeroing is the process of adjusting your aim and marker setup so your shots consistently hit the intended target at normal paintball engagement ranges.

Key Points

  • Ensures your marker shoots straight and predictably.
  • Typically done at medium distance to match gameplay.
  • Players test shots and adjust hand placement or stance.
  • Improves accuracy in gunfights and long shots.
  • Helps identify issues with paint, barrel, or velocity.

Details

Zeroing means testing your shots against a fixed target to confirm where your paint is landing. Because paintballs curve and drop naturally, players zero their markers at the distances they expect to fight usually between 40 and 70 feet.

Zeroing helps players: - Correct small aim mistakes - Adjust for paint quality or barrel match - Find a stable shooting stance - Identify if the marker is inconsistent

Players fire short, controlled bursts and adjust their aim until the shot pattern aligns with their point of aim. Zeroing ensures more reliable accuracy during fast-paced gunfights.
