U-Turn Move
Overview
A U turn move is a rapid reversal where a player pivots around a bunker to switch from one firing side to the opposite side, creating sudden pressure on opponents who expect a single direction engagement.
Key Points
- Involves quick reversal of posture and angle.
- Used to surprise opponents holding predictable edges.
- Creates unexpected wrap angles or interior pressure.
- Common after reading reloads or indicator signals.
- Requires precise footwork and tight bunker contact.
Details
A U turn move is an aggressive, deceptive bunker transition where the player quickly rotates around the bunker to attack from the opposite side. Instead of remaining in a traditional left or right rhythm, the player reverses direction, catching opponents who timed their shots or movement based on predictable exposures.
Applications include: Breaking stalemates in mirror battles. Punishing opponents who over commit to one lane. Creating new crossfield pressure from an unexpected angle. Supporting teammates by forcing guns off key zones.
Executing the U turn correctly requires: Tight bunker contact to avoid exposing the pack. Controlled marker handling to maintain balance. Awareness of crossfield threats on the new side.
This move becomes especially powerful when paired with misdirection e.g., a fake head check on one side, followed by an immediate wrap on the other.
