- Referees enforce safety line rules strictly.
- Crossing the line unsafely can stop the entire game.
Details
A safety line is a physical or painted boundary that marks where gameplay ends and safe areas begin. Players must keep their masks on and markers pointed down or barrel socked until they are fully behind the safety line.
Typical locations include: Entrances to the field Staging areas Spectator zones Registration and equipment rental locations
Safety lines protect players and spectators from stray shots and ensure that all firing stops when players exit the active field.
Breaking safety line protocol such as removing a mask while still inside the active play zone is taken extremely seriously, as it can lead to severe injury. Fields enforce these rules to maintain safe operation.
