Gun Dominance
Overview
Gun dominance refers to a player's ability to consistently control an opponent through superior shooting pressure, forcing them to stay tucked and limiting their movement and firing opportunities.
Key Points
- Achieved through accuracy, rhythm, timing, and pressure control.
- Forces opponents into defensive posture or full tuck-in.
- Reduces the opponent's ability to shoot back or move safely.
- Critical for creating openings and enabling teammates to advance.
- Built through technical gunfighting skill and angle manipulation.
- A major indicator of high-level competitive play.
Details
Gun dominance is the state in which one player exerts enough consistent pressure that their opponent cannot comfortably engage, move, or challenge angles. It is achieved through disciplined bursts, accurate snapshots, strong lane presence, and tactical timing.
A player with gun dominance controls the pace of the engagement. Their opponent is forced to stay tucked behind the bunker, limiting visibility and preventing effective return fire. This creates opportunities for the dominant player or their teammates to reposition, push, or isolate other threats.
Gun dominance often emerges from micro-level advantages: a slightly better angle, a superior snapshot rhythm, a well-timed cross move, or coordinated pressure from teammates. It is not about sheer rate of fire it is about applying paint where and when it matters.
