Details
Team arm bands are simple but essential tools for identifying which players belong to each side during a paintball game. Fields often use bright colors like red, blue, yellow, or green to ensure that arm bands stand out from typical clothing and gear. They are worn on the upper arm usually on the bicep so that teammates, opponents, and referees can immediately recognize a player’s side.
Arm bands are especially important in games with rental players or mixed gear, where clothing and equipment colors are not unified. They prevent accidental shooting of teammates and help maintain clear team structure during chaotic firefights. In scenario or woodsball environments, where camouflage clothing is common, arm bands are even more important for visibility.
During eliminations or rule checks, referees may look to the arm band to confirm which team a player belongs to, especially when players from both sides cluster near each other. Most fields require arm bands to remain visible at all times and may penalize players who intentionally hide or remove them.
Because they are inexpensive, reusable, and easy to understand, arm bands are one of the most widely used identification tools in the sport.
